04 May Is the CrackBerry Dead?
Research in Motion (RIMM), the company behind the BlackBerry smart phone device has been steadily losing market share to Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android device makers such as Htc, Motorola and Samsung over the past year or so. The device, often referred to as the CrackBerry is still very popular with it’s users but it hasn’t been able to come up with any innovative smart phones that can rival either the iPhone or Android devices. Recently, RIMM announced sales forecasts for the second quarter that were much lower than what people expected and the stock price collapsed over 14% in one day. However, the company is trying to stage a comeback with new higher end phones to be released shortly. In many investor’s minds, the game is already over.
