Investing with Regional Airlines

04 Jul Investing with Regional Airlines

With all the traveling that I’ve done, I must say that I’ve had the most pleasant experiences flying with the regional airlines. These smaller airlines tend to focus on flying only certain geographic routes and usually shorter distances. There’s been a lot of debate by investors who usually shy away from investing in airlines because of low profit margins, intense competition and the unpredictable oil prices. However, regional airlines which focus on offering exceptional service and convenience have done very well. One airline I fly a lot within Canada/US is Porter Airlines. They offer very competitive airfares, great customer service and most importantly for me convenience. They fly out from an airport that is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, literally minutes from home. It’s like having a plane in your backyard.
