iPad app review: Stock Touch

28 May iPad app review: Stock Touch

As a stock trader, I am constantly on the lookout to find software or websites that can help me scan the markets in a time efficient manner so I can focus my time on assessing trading opportunities. A few months ago, I was approached by the software company, Visible Market to review their iPad/iPhone app called Stock Touch. The application allows a trader/investor to get a visual overview of how certain sectors in the Global and US stock markets are performing. By presenting this data in a visual heat map type format, it allows you to immediately know which sectors are outperforming or underperforming. This is very crucial for short term traders like myself who don’t want to be caught trading against the main trend. For example, let’s say that you’re trading Apple (AAPL) and you see that the entire technology sector is falling due to the red heat maps as shown on the app. This might signal to you that you should avoid buying Apple stock and perhaps look to short sell or bet on the downside of the stock. As well, the app does give you access to detailed company information on each stock which is a plus. The main benefit of this app is it allows me to instantaneous (within a minute) to see what sectors I should be focusing on, whether it’s up or down. The app costs $4.99 and is available for download in Apple’s app store. If you’re a visual person like me, this app can help save you time in your stock scans.
